Jun 5 — The Poland newsroom of Euractiv and Gwara invite the public to join an online debate entitled “Fortress or Frontier? The EU’s Enlargement Dilemma,” which will take place on Monday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. (CEST.)
Recently, Gwara Media started cooperation with Polish, Czech, and Slovak-based newsrooms of Euractiv, an independent European media network, to learn more about the political and social situation in Europe and share Ukraine’s perspective on EU-related topics.
The “Fortress or Frontier?” debate will be focused on the role of European integration in strengthening democracy and societal resilience in candidate countries, especially Ukraine.
The participants will discuss challenges like disinformation and address the dilemma between collective enlargement and a gradual, country-by-country accession process.

The discussion will be held in English. The organizers expect the event to last one and a half hours.
Everyone can join the debate after registration.
The project is co-financed by the governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
