UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 26 — A Kharkiv resident who allegedly passed data on the location of the Defense Forces and military equipment to Russia will stand trial, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports.

Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,000 people in the Kharkiv Oblast have received a notice of suspicion in proceedings over treason, collaboration, and dissemination of information about the movement of the Armed Forces.

According to the investigation, the 36-year-old Kharkiv resident allegedly passed on to the Russians the locations of Ukrainian defenders and military equipment. He also reportedly tried to find the location of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Kharkiv.

The Prosecutor’s Office reported that the man worked as a driver for a grocery store chain. While delivering groceries in Kharkiv, he reportedly recorded the locations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and passed this information to the Russian military for free. The Russian army then used this information to attack the city.

The man is currently detained. If found guilty, he faces imprisonment from 8 to 12 years.
