Currently, developers have already tested more than 50 systems. Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that Ukraine is launching mass production of robotic ground platforms designed to minimize human involvement on the battlefield.

Kamikaze platforms, turrets, and platforms that destroy Russian positions and equipment, clear mines, evacuate the wounded, and deliver ammunition to positions have been tested.

“The robots have successfully proved to be effective at the training ground, and in a few months they will be on the battlefield – hundreds of different platforms will be purchased through UNITED24. The main goal of ground robots is to minimize human involvement on the battlefield,” said Fedorov.

Some robotic systems are already operating at the front, such as the ShaBlia turret. For the first time, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry commissioned the first ShaBlya remote-controlled combat module in September 2023.

The ShaBlya, a bulletproof automated system for machine guns, helps soldiers remotely fire. This turret can be equipped with various weapons and mounted on vehicles. The system can be used for:

  • conducting reconnaissance to identify targets
  • defeat enemy manpower;
  • to combat lightly armored vehicles;
  • to combat enemy firing positions.

The module can even be armed with an automatic grenade launcher or other weapons. The system provides remote destruction of the enemy at a distance of up to 2 km. The turret is equipped with a video camera and thermal imager. Thanks to the detection and surveillance equipment and remote control, operators can fire from the module from a safe location.

Kamikaze robot for remote mining is developed in Ukraine. The robot can transport anti-tank mines or combat modules to blow up Russian tanks or dugouts. Ukrainian developers Brave1 created a kamikaze robot for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It can remotely mine targets on the ground and destroy military equipment and personnel of the Russian army
