UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct 3 — In Kharkiv, a man and a woman were sentenced to 15 years in prison for providing the Russians with information about the logistics routes of the Defense Forces, reported the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office
Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,000 people in the Kharkiv Oblast have received a notice of suspicion in proceedings over treason, collaboration, and dissemination of information about the movement of the Armed Forces.
According to the investigation, the Russian informants were a brother and sister who the Russian intelligence recruited in 2023.
The Prosecutor’s Office writes that on their supervisor’s instructions, siblings collected information about the routes and schedules of the Ukrainian army’s railroad trains. They also informed their supervisors of the places of temporary stops and unloading of military equipment and ammunition.
The investigation says the Russians were planning to attack and sabotage the Ukrainian Railways infrastructure based on the information they had collected.
The man and woman were detained in March this year. The investigation also revealed that they were collecting information about the Defense Forces’ locations near the cities of Balakliia and Izium.
