UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 10—The Security Service (SBU) served a notice of suspicion to a resident of Kupiansk who allegedly agreed to work in the Russian occupation administration’s patrol service during the city’s occupation in 2022, reported SBU spokesman Vladyslav Abdula.

Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,000 people in the Kharkiv Oblast have received a notice of suspicion in proceedings over treason, collaboration, and dissemination of information about the movement of the Armed Forces.

According to the investigation, the man and the Russians conducted illegal patrols in the city and obtained statements and explanations from the local population. He also checked the newly created body for “anti-terrorist security” and drafted relevant acts.

On the eve of the deoccupation of Kupiansk, the man left the city with the Russian military and is currently hiding in the temporarily occupied territory.

The SBU charged him in absentia for collaboration and is currently trying to put him on the wanted list.
