UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 3 — The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has served a notice of suspicion to a resident of the Kupiansk district who allegedly agreed to cooperate with Russia during the occupation of part of the Kharkiv region, said SBU spokesman Vladyslav Abdula.
Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,000 people in the Kharkiv Oblast have received a notice of suspicion in proceedings over treason, collaboration, and dissemination of information about the movement of the Armed Forces.
According to Vladyslav Abdula, in August 2022, a 49-year-old resident of the Kupiansk district agreed to take a position in the Russian occupation administration’s department of financial support and budget execution.
Abdula said the woman’s responsibilities included monitoring the spending of money from the budget, planning these expenditures, and preparing estimates. In addition, she prepared financial reports for the head of the administration.
“After the deoccupation, the woman tried to hide out and avoid justice. However, the SBU officers established her place of residence and prosecuted her by the law,” the SBU spokesman said.
Based on the evidence collected, the SBU served the woman a notice of suspicion of collaboration with Russians.
