UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Dec 26—Since the beginning of 2024, 3,982 Russian attacks have been recorded in the Kharkiv Oblast, said governor Oleh Syniehubov during a briefing.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian shelling and airstrikes, often during the full-scale invasion, as Moscow targets civilian and critical infrastructure in the region.

According to the collected data, Russian troops attacked the Kharkiv and Kharkiv region with 441 missiles, 1,433 glide aerial bombs (KABs), and 264 drones. They also conducted  465 strikes using Grad MLRS, 426 artillery attacks, 133 mortar attacks, and 820 strikes using other types of weapons.

Syniehubov reported that Russians attacked Kharkiv itself 361 times over the past year. They launched 128 missiles, dropped 170 glide aerial bombs (KABs), used 59 drones, and fired one Grad MLRS at the city. Russian troops also carried out three attacks on the city using other weapon types.

Russian attacks in Kharkiv Oblast have damaged 10,414 infrastructure facilities over the year. These include 5,990 multi-story residential buildings and one-story houses. Russian strikes also partially destroyed 68 schools, 31 kindergartens, 27 institutions for higher education, 39 hospitals, 11 train stations, 17 cultural institutions, and 4,231 other structures.

In Kharkiv itself, Russian attacks have damaged 2,542 infrastructure facilities. These include 969 residential buildings, 15 schools, five kindergartens, 19 higher education institutions, and 14 hospitals. An additional 1,520 structures were also partially destroyed.
