UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Apr 24 — The Russian army shelled Kharkiv three times, injuring six people and damaging buildings, reported the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

Around 00:57 a.m., the Russian Federation shelled the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, Syniehubov says. The S-300 missile hit the ground, damaging the glazing and exterior of three apartment buildings, two office buildings, three non-residential buildings, and a gas pipeline. A total of 568 windows and 33 cars were damaged. The Russian shelling also injured three men aged 33, 45, and 53 and three women aged 24, 45, and 54.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops have attacked Kharkiv region that borders the Russian Belgorod Oblast multiple times per day. They’ve intensified the shelling since March 2024, targeting both civilian and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv, the regional center 19 miles from the border, and oblast, exploiting the lack of air defense systems and missiles in Ukraine.

The Russian army also attacked Kharkiv on the afternoon of April 23, hitting the Saltivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. In the Saltivskyi district, they damaged 19 private houses: windows were smashed, fences broken, roofs damaged. The attack also damaged three garages and three cars. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the Russians damaged two cars.

In total, over the past day, about 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under Russian artillery and mortar fire. The Russian army also hit Kharkiv, Kozacha Lopan, and Zolochiv with airstrikes.

On April 24, at 01:05 a.m., the Russian Federation fired two missiles at the village of Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district. The shelling partially destroyed the former Zolochiv administration building and ten houses, including two residential apartment houses and a bank building.

On April 23, around 6:30 p.m., the Russians shelled the village of Senkove in the Kupiansk district with multiple rocket launchers, damaging a power line and a private house.

The Russian military also dropped KAB bombs on the village of Kozacha Lopan in the Kharkiv district, damaging the village council building and a garage. They also damaged private houses and a transmission tower in the village of Vilcha, Chuhuiv district.
