KHARKIV OBLAST, Mar 4 — Over the past day, the Russian army conducted 11 attacks in the Kupiansk direction near Synkivka and Tabaivka in the Kharkiv Oblast. The Russians unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position, reported the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in its morning briefing.
The Russian military hit Vovchansk, Velykyi Burluk, and Synkivka in the Kharkiv Oblast with airstrikes during the day.
In the Slobozhanskyi direction, in the border areas, the Russian military conducts intense sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to more dangerous directions and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod Oblast.
Positional fighting along the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line continued on 1 March. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) quoted Russian and Ukrainian sources as confirming that positional fighting continued northeast of Kupiansk near Synkivka and Petropavlivka, southeast of Kupiansk near Tabaivka, west of Kreminna near Terny and Yampolivka, and south of Kreminna near Bilohorivka.
ISW cites Russian milbloggers who posted footage of allegedly Russian troops striking a Ukrainian pontoon bridge over the Oskil River near Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi (southeast of Kupiansk) with guided aerial bombs and claims that Russian soldiers have allegedly destroyed all fixed bridges across the Oskil River.
