KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb 6 — The rescue operation after the Russian attack on Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district, is over.
Restoration work is underway, said Viktor Kovalenko, the head of the Zolochiv Military Administration.
“We are working on reconstruction. The strikes damaged private houses, cafes, shops, pharmacies, gas infrastructure, and a utility company. In other words, they hit the center of the city. We are actively working to repair the damage. Specialists are also working to restore electricity and communications,” said Viktor Kovalenko.
What is known about the shelling of Zolochiv
At around 2:30 a.m., two Russian S-300 missiles destroyed a three-story hotel in Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district.
There were two hits: the first hit the hotel, and the second hit a cafe next to it.
The Russian attack killed a two-month-old boy. Rescuers pulled the body of a child out of the rubble. The child was born on December 4, 2023. The attack injured three women, aged 21, 28 and 39. They are in the hospital with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds, including the mother of the deceased child.

The missile attack damaged seven private houses and 19 civilian infrastructure objects, including shops, cafes, and kiosks.The Russian army also damaged two administrative buildings and at least five civilian vehicles.
