UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 4—Near the village of Hlyboke, the Russian army is putting its forward troops on high alert, focusing on tracking and attempting to destroy the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.
Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
The military reported that in Vovchansk, Russians continue assault operations near a neighborhood with high-rise buildings, conduct aerial reconnaissance, and set up a communication system.
Also, near Lukiantsi, a fire at Russian positions complicated logistical support and evacuation of casualties. In units in this direction, there are cases of Russian personnel refusing to complete their assignments.
The “Kharkiv” reported that, in total, Russian troops conducted five airstrikes in the Kharkiv direction over the past day, using two glide bombs, and launched 21 kamikaze drone strike at Ukraine’s positions.
The Russian army lost 74 troops in the Kharkiv direction over the day, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.
Also, the Ukrainian troops destroyed four artillery systems, four vehicles, two units of special equipment, 74 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 57 shelters, and three ammunition storage sites.
