UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul 16 — Over the past week, the Russian shelling caused 59 fires in the Kharkiv region, the State Emergency Service (SES) press service reports.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

On July 9, Russian troops launched a massive air strike on the frontline village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, killing two people and injuring four others. The bombing damaged or destroyed houses, apartment buildings, outbuildings, and cars. The Russian strike caused the house, two outbuildings, and three cars to catch fire.

On July 10, the Russian army shelled the village of Slatyne in the Kharkiv district, killing one person and injuring another. The Russians hit the private sector, where the roof of a residential building, a house, and an outbuilding with a total area of 300 m2 were burning at different addresses.

On July 11, the Russian military dropped glide bombs (KABs) on the private sector of Borova village in Izium district, damaging a residential building and injuring four civilians. 

In addition, the bomb attack damaged houses, outbuildings, and cars, and a fire broke out on the territory of a private household. The Russian attack also caused a garage, outbuildings, and three cars to catch fire.

On the evening of the same day, the Russian military massively shelled the residential sector of the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz of the Vovchansk community in the Chuhuiv district. The shelling killed three people and injured eight. The blasts damaged residential buildings and outbuildings. The Russian attack caused two one-story apartment buildings and outbuildings to catch fire
