A briefing dedicated to the Ukrainians released from Russian captivity took place in Kharkiv.
The issue was discussed by the representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, The Medical Forces Command, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, reported Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
According to Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, 24 prisoner swaps have been carried out, and 808 people released from captivity.
“About 380 meetings have been conducted with people looking for their missing relatives or waiting for those who are in captivity. More than 3,000 consultations have been provided over the phone, and more than 6,000 requests have been processed by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. The state fully provides the treatment for our soldiers returned from Russian captivity,” said Malyar.
The Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Iryna Mykychak informed, there were a large number of difficult cases among the saved prisoners, but all of them were provided with the appropriate help from the state.
All the defenders undergo a special medical examination to determine the problems, The treatment abroad is arranged if necessary. Every week about 40 people go to other countries supported by the governmental program.
Ukrainian patients are received by approximately 18 countries. Poland, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, Canada, and Israel are among them. All the released prisoners undergo three stages of reintegration after captivity according to NATO standards.
Earlier the Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Viktor Liashko, the representatives of medical institutions, and international partners discussed the resumption of proper operation of the healthcare system in the de-occupied settlements in Kharkiv Oblast.
