UKRAINE, Dec 27 — 45% of Ukrainians believe that Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election is a step toward bringing peace to Ukraine, according to a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

Out of the 45% of respondents, 15% believe that Trump’s victory brings peace much closer, and 30% say it is getting only a little closer.

On the contrary, 14% say that peace will become more distant (5% say it is becoming significantly distant, 9% say it is becoming somewhat distant) with Trump’s victory. The remaining 40% either believe that nothing will change or have not decided on their opinion.

Overall, 23% of Ukrainians believe that under Trump, peace will be “mostly or completely fair” for Ukraine. The opinion that the peace will be mostly or completely unfair is shared by 31%.

Another 29% believe that, after Trump becomes American President, there will be both fulfillment of Ukraine’s demands and concessions to Russia, and it is difficult to say which will be more. The remaining 18% could not decide on their opinion.
