UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 25 — On October 24, the Russians dropped 50 glide bombs on the Kharkiv region, and 300 since the beginning of the month, reported Volodymyr Tymoshko, head of the Kharkiv police, on Ukrainian TV.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

Volodymyr Tymoshko noted that such an increase in the number of combined strikes complicates the evacuation of people.

“The situation is complicated not even as a result of the KAB attacks, which are conducted every hour or two, but because such attacks are accompanied by artillery and MLRS attacks,” the police chief said.

He added that due to the constant attacks, people are forced to stay in shelters and wait for a safe moment to go out. As a result, the evacuation is delayed.

Ihor Klymenko, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, announced that since the beginning of 2024, Russia has launched more than 3,700 glide bomb attacks on the Kharkiv region. In 2023, there were “just a little more than 100 attacks like that.” Most of Russia’s targets were energy and civilian infrastructure.
