UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 18 — Since August 9, 2022, 48,315 people have been evacuated from the deoccupied districts of the Kharkiv region. Among them are 5,512 children and 1,257 people with disabilities, announced Oleksandr Ilienko, Deputy Director of the Civil Protection Department of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, during a briefing.

Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.

The largest number of people evacuated was from Kharkiv district — 4,948. Of these, 395 are children. Chuhuiv district is in second place, with 3,627 people evacuated. Next are Vovchansk and Kupiansk districts — 3,419 and 3,316 people.

On October 14, Oleh Syniehubov, governor of Kharkiv Oblast, said at the briefing that 4,000 people remain on the left bank of the Oskil River, which flows through the Kupiansk and Izium districts. Due to the increased fighting, this area is a priority for evacuation.

The funeral ceremony was held at the Armenian Apostolic Church, and the volunteer was buried at the cemetery No. 18 in Kharkiv.
