UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 12 — In August and early September, Russian army attacks with multiple launch rocket launchers and FPV drones increased in Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region, reported Oleksandr Kulik, Head of the Information Department of the Derhachi City Council, in a commentary to Gwara Media.
Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes often, even more so since Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the region in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions in May.
“Four people have been killed in Kozacha Lopan recently. The shelling is combined, and the Russians use various types of weapons at once. Attacks from multiple rocket launchers and FPV drones hitting civilians have become more frequent,” Oleksandr Kulik said.
Kozacha Lopan is a village in the Derhachi district of the Kharkiv region, located 15.5 miles from Kharkiv and 1.24 miles from the Russian border.
The official reported that the Russians actively use multiple rocket launchers with North Korean missiles. On August 21, the Russians hit the administration building in the village, killing two women and injuring one.
Kulik said that the situation with the evacuation in the village has deteriorated: while people have stopped returning to Kozacha Lopan, those who left do not want to leave either.
Currently, 820 people live in the village, while a few months ago, there were 600 people there. According to him, there are no children left in the border settlements of the Derhachi community, and all families with children were evacuated in April-May of this year.
