Over 26 thousand citizens in Ukraine are considered missing under special circumstances, 15 thousand soldiers and 11 thousand civilians are among them.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Tymchenko informed about this in the ether of the national telemarathon.
The information about each of these citizens was added to the database registry coordinated by the Main Directorate of Intelligence. The families of missing people have had an opportunity to request data from this registry, and, as of now, almost nine thousand families have utilized this option.
The Unified Register of Persons Missing in Special Circumstances launched on May 2. It was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances.
