UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 8 — Over the past day, Ukrainian troops destroyed 77 shelters of the Russian military, one drone control center, and two ammunition storage sites, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” reported that near Lukiantsi, the Russians conducted logistical support activities using heavy-duty unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and, near Hlyboke, they rotated troops.

In Vovchansk, the Russian military is also carrying out logistics activities, including restoring the communication system and trying to identify Ukrainian positions using drones. The Russians have also replenished mortar munitions, “Kharkiv” wrote.  

The “Kharkiv” reported that over the past day, in the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army launched one missile strike and one airstrike using one glide bomb (KAB), attacked with 32 kamikaze drones and fired 348 times at the positions of the Defense Forces.

According to “Kharkiv,” the Russians lost 107 troops in one day in the Kharkiv direction. In addition, the Russians lost 57 units of weapons and military equipment, including seven artillery systems, two armored combat vehicles, 11 vehicles, one unit of special equipment, and 36 UAVs.
