UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 12 — Russians are conducting reconnaissance into possible routes of advance near Lukiantsi, Kharkiv region, and are trying to counter Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces. 

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

“Kharkiv” reports that, near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, the Russian army is focused on restoring the combat capability of units on the front lines. In Vovchansk, the Russians continue to conduct assaults in the area of high-rise buildings and collect intelligence via aerial reconnaissance.

Near the village of Tykhe, the Russians reportedly evacuated casualties from the front lines.

In the Kharkiv direction, over the past day, the Russian troops conducted 32 kamikaze drone strikes, one air strike using two glide bombs (KABs), and fired 440 times at the positions of the Defense Forces.

Russian army lost 130 troops over the past day. They also  lost 78 units of weapons and military equipment, including two armored combat vehicles, nine artillery systems, 16 vehicles, seven special vehicles, 44 UAVs, 55 shelters for personnel, and one ammunition storage site.
