UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 14 — Since the beginning of the day, there have been three combat clashes near Vovchansk and Lyptsi. Russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 13 times, trying to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The military said that the Russian army continues to conduct aerial reconnaissance in Vovchansk. In the central part of the city, the Russian military is regrouping assault groups of the 153rd Tank Regiment and the 4th Volunteer Assault Brigade to continue assault operations in a neighborhood with high-rise buildings.

The “Kharkiv” group of forces reported the Russians were preparing units of the 83rd Separate Air Assault Brigade for an offensive near the village of Tykhe. In addition, the Russian military used multiple launch rocket systems to shell Vovchanski Khutory.

In total, Russia lost 141 troops and 56 pieces of weapons and military equipment in the Kharkiv direction over the past day, including ten tanks, six armored combat vehicles, five artillery systems, 21 unmanned aerial vehicles, and other equipment.
