UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, June 25 — Ukrainian forces continue to destroy Russian equipment in the Kharkiv region, forcing Russians to attack on foot, Yurii Povkh, the spokesman of Ukraine’s “Kharkiv” group of forces, said on Ukrainian TV on June 24.

Russia started their new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

“The enemy has concentrated enough forces to attack on foot daily, in several units. This is partly happening without equipment support, as our artillery and FPV drone operators restrict the enemy from using armored vehicles and tanks,” Yurii Povkh said.

He added that the Ukrainian forces destroyed 56 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 36 Russian shelters and eliminated one UAV landing site on June 24. Russia also lost one armored combat vehicle, five artillery systems, nine vehicles, and two units of special equipment. That is why, Povkh said, the Russians are attacking with less equipment.

He added that, in the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army launched one missile strike, 20 airstrikes, 19 kamikaze drone attacks, and fired 368 times at the Ukrainian troops positions.
