The restoration of Kharkiv will be discussed at the 83rd session of the Committee on Urban Development, Housing, and Land Management on Oct. 3-7 in San Marino.
According to the Kharkiv City Council, the General Plan for the Development of Kharkiv will be presented at the session. The British architects led by Norman Foster worked on the master plan. Foster will take part in the meeting.
“We have also involved a group of Ukrainian and Kharkiv architects. The General Plan will clearly outline a new approach to the city’s economy. We will create industrial parks, and IT clusters to make Kharkiv a self-sufficient, strong, and economically independent city, as it was before the war,” said City Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
The Master Plan will reflect the residential development and new commercial and administrative buildings.
The session is the second part of the Committee on Urban Development, Housing, and Land Management meeting. The first took place in Geneva, where Foster expressed the desire to support Kharkiv after Terehov`s speech.
Meanwhile, Russians continue shelling Kharkiv. At midnight on Oct. 4, two attacks were recorded in Kharkiv: one missile hit an industrial facility in the Kholodnohirskyi district, and the other – a railway object in the Novobavarskyi district of the city.
