Krasnohrad District Court of Kharkiv Region found a 2nd-year student of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics guilty of disseminating information on the movement, movement and location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and sentenced him to 5.5 years in prison.
The Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center reported that he is a native of Krasnohrad, born in 2004, Dmytro Davydchenko, who was detained on October 5, 2022.
The court’s decision contains information that from June 28 to October 5, 2022, while in Krasnohrad, Davydchenko sent information to an unknown person via Viber and Telegram about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, their movement and the movement of military equipment in the city.
- On July 7, 2022, he provided the coordinates of the area where the oil depot in Krasnohrad was located.
- On August 30, he sent a text message indicating the coordinates of the location of the AFU personnel.
- On the day of his detention, October 5, he took photos of the local military registration and enlistment office.
The student pleaded partially guilty during the court hearing and assured that he had a pro-Ukrainian position.
The sanction for this act is imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years. According to Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code, it is a criminal offence to disseminate information about the movement, relocation, or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other armed formations of Ukraine.
