On the morning of Jan. 18, a helicopter crashed beside a nursery in Brovary in Kyiv Oblast. As of 2:41 p.m., 14 people have been killed, including one child and the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky, first deputy minister Yevhen Yenin and the state secretary Yurii Lubkovich were killed in the helicopter crash, reported the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ihor Klimenko.
The deputy head of Ukraine’s presidential office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said the minister had been traveling to a war “hot spot” when his helicopter went down.
The head of the National Police in Kharkiv, Volodymyr Tymoshko, reported the ministerial team was on their way to meet him, and he had spoken to them only yesterday.
The Security Service of Ukraine reports that they are currently considering three possible causes for the tragedy, including the flight rules violation, the helicopter technical malfunction, and the sabotage.
