UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep 19 — Russian forces recently made confirmed advances along the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, reported the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on September 18. Kyiv hasn’t confirmed this information as of September 19.

One of the main goals of the Russian full-scale war is to capture the remainder of occupied Luhansk and Donetsk Oblast; their operations on Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line are dedicated to that. From this section of the frontline, they also aim to push into Kharkiv Oblast and re-occupy Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, important logistics hubs for the region.

ISW reported that geolocated footage published on September 18 indicates that Russian forces advanced west of Tabaivka, west of Karmazynivk, and southwards along Svatove-Makiivka highway, and south of Makiivka on the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna axis.

Russian milblogger claimed that Russian forces also advanced in forest areas near Pishchane and Nevske, but ISW has not observed visual evidence of these claims.

On August 27,  the ISW reported that the Ukrainian forces regained lost positions southwest of Kreminna amid continued Russian offensive operations along the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line on August 27.
