At around 6am on 21 September, the Russian army launched 6 S-300 missiles at the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. Three civilians were injured. Civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and the water supply system were damaged, cutting off water to the hospital and residents’ homes.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported this during a national telethon.
“There were missile hits to the industrial area. Unfortunately, a 200 mm diameter water pipe was damaged. Now our utilities and Kharkivvodokanal are working to localize the leaks we have, and we will work to restore the water supply. One of the city’s hospitals is currently without water supply, so we will try to fix it by 1 pm and deliver water to the hospital. Unfortunately, several private houses are also cut off. We will also work to bring water to them,” Terekhov said.
A 200 sq m warehouse caught fire. Forty-five firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire. The firefighters are currently eliminating the aftermath of the missile attack, the Kharkiv Oblast State Emergency Service reported.
