UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, June 28 — The Government will allocate $12 million from the state budget in 2024 to equip shelters for schools in the Kharkiv region, announced Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast Governor.

Also, Syniehubov said that some communities agreed to allocate almost $2 million to equip shelters for educational institutions in the Kharkiv Oblast as well. He said, there are plans to equip shelters in Korotych, Lozova, Krasnopavlivka, Natalyne, and Chemuzhivka schools.
According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Government has allocated $61 million this year to improve the safety of schools. Shelters are now available in 10,500 schools, and more than 5,000 of them already have all the needed equipment for offline study.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andrii Stashkiv said at a briefing at the Ukraine—Ukrinform Media Center that the Russian aggression has destroyed more than 200 schools in the country and damaged 1,600.
