UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 15 — In the Kupiansk direction, Russians attacked Ukrainian positions nine times near the towns of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove over the past day, reported the General Staff.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

In addition, there were four combat clashes in the Kharkiv direction near Vovchansk and Sotnytskyi Kozachok.

Also, the Russians hit Lyptsi, Kozacha Lopan, Kupiansk, and Zolochiv in the Kharkiv region with airstrikes.

The “Kharkiv” group of forces reported that the Russian army continues to conduct aerial reconnaissance in Vovchansk. In the central part of the city, the Russian military is regrouping assault groups of the 153rd Tank Regiment and the 4th Volunteer Assault Brigade to continue assault operations in a neighborhood with high-rise buildings.
