UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul 25 — In the Kharkiv direction, Russians continue their attacks. In total, there were eight combat clashes during the day, reported the General Staff.
Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)
All the clashes in the Kharkiv direction were near Hlyboke, Tykhe, and Sotnytskyi Kozachok.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were eight combat clashes over the past day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian assaults near three communities. The Russians focused their attacks near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, and Petropavlivka, reported the General Staff.
According to the report, the Russians also hit Vovchansk, Velyki Prokhody, Lyptsi, Mali Prokhody, Vesele, and Cherniaky in the Kharkiv region with air strikes.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the Guardian published on July 24, said that as of 2024, the Russian army has twice as much equipment as Ukraine. Despite this, Ukraine stopped the new Russian offensive on Kharkiv, and the combat is ongoing north of the region.
According to Syrskyi, the Russian units engaged in the Russian-Ukrainian war now include 520,000 people, and they plan to increase this number to 690,000.
