UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 13 — During the day, in the Kharkiv direction, Russians attacked Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Tykhe three times, reported the General Staff.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

In addition, in the Kupiansk direction, there were 12 combat clashes near Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Hlushkivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kruhliakivka, and Andriivka.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports in their assessment published on August 11 that Russia is making gains on the Kupiansk axis, advancing west of Novoselivske, a settlement in Luhansk Oblast southeast of Kupuiansk.
