The Migration Service in Kharkiv Oblast issued the first two certificates of return from deportation to Russia to Balakliia and Kharkiv districts residents.
“The Migration Service was approached by parents from the liberated Balaklia, whose daughter was forcibly taken to the aggressor state at the beginning of July 2022. The corresponding certificate has been handed over to the parents, and they are looking forward to their daughter’s return home,” Migration Service in Kharkiv Oblast informed.
Last year, the Government introduced an experimental project to issue identity cards for Ukrainians who were forcibly deported to Russia or who left the temporarily occupied territories and lost their passports.
This certificate will help to return home transiting the third countries.
If a deported person in Russia does not have a passport or a permanent or temporary residence permit, a certificate of return can be issued for them in Ukraine. The document is free of charge and is issued within five working days from the date of application.
In October, the Ministry of Reintegration reported that 37 children were returned from Russia and reunited with their families.
