UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Aug  6 — A student of a Kharkiv university is accused of high treason. According to law enforcement, through Telegram, he sold information to Russians about the location of troops and military equipment of the Defense Forces, reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,000 people in the Kharkiv Oblast have received a notice of suspicion in proceedings over treason, collaboration, and dissemination of information about the movement of the Armed Forces.

“Fulfilling the task of the Russian curator, the accused collected information about the location of the Defense Forces personnel and military equipment on the territory of Kharkiv. The guy sent this data to a Russian special service officer in the form of photos and videos, marking the necessary points on Google Maps,” the statement reads.

Law enforcement officers detained the guy while he was reportedly filming the location of the Armed Forces vehicles.

He is currently in custody. If found guilty, he faces life imprisonment.
