KHARKIV OBLAST, Feb 16 — The Russian shelling in Kharkiv Oblast killed 2,406 people since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, including 86 children, said Serhii Bolvinov, head of the Kharkiv National Police Investigation Department.
In particular, on February 14, the Russian missile attack on the village of Velykyi Burluk killed five and injured five people.
The shelling killed a 74-year-old mother and a 54-year-old daughter. The husband of one of the deceased women is in the hospital with an explosive injury and spinal contusion. Another victim is a nurse at the local polyclinic. Her husband died — he would have turned 54 in April, the investigator said.
“The occupiers kill entire Ukrainian families. They deliberately attack residential areas with missiles and bombs. This is genocide. The enemy’s goal is to deprive us of a normal life, to turn peaceful, prosperous Ukrainian villages and cities into a gray zone,” Bolvinov wrote.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, experts documented more than 20,000 Russian war crimes in the Kharkiv Oblast and more than 100,000 Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
