UKRAINE, Oct 28 — Russian troops dropped over 1,100 glide bombs on Ukraine over the past week, announced President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Russia often uses modified glide bombs (KABs) to attack Ukraine, hitting civilian and military targets. Russia utilizes them as a cheaper but similarly destructive alternative to cruise and ballistic missiles.

The Russian army also used 560 attack drones and about 20 missiles of various types to attack Ukraine during last week.

“I thank our people who work every day and every night to protect Ukrainians from Russian strikes. They provide assistance and always protect lives,” Zelenskyy wrote.

On the evening of October 20, Russian troops launched airstrikes on the city of Kharkiv, injuring at least 13, including a child and a pregnant woman. The strikes cut off power to part of the city. In total, the Russian attack damaged 47 residential buildings, including 14 private ones.
