UKRAINE, Jul 22 — The German Patriot defense system has arrived in Ukraine, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in his evening speech on July 21.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received Patriot air defense systems from the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands. Patriot systems can effectively shoot down various types of Russian missiles, including ballistic and cruise missiles.

“There is still much work ahead, and this is far from guaranteed protection, but nevertheless, it means more strength for Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy also added that the key issue is still providing supplies to the Ukrainian military, particularly shells and drones.

“It is very important to ensure that in all key directions, we have the means to inflict maximum losses on the enemy,” Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy also said that one of the priorities for the country’s leadership is strengthening air defense for the Kharkiv region, necessary to protect the area from glide bombs Russia has developed.
