UKRAINE, Dec 20 — On the night of December 17, writer and volunteer Yevheniia Dukhopelnikova died, reported PEN Ukraine, citing volunteer Kateryna Berezhna.
There is no information about the circumstances and place of death of Yevheniia Dukhopelnikova, the author of the book “Girls at War. Dolboklyuy’s Journey”.
“Yevheniia Dukhopelnikova was born in Kharkiv and has been volunteering since 2014. Her husband is at war. Her book “Girls at War. Dolboklyuy’s Journey” is about the fact that people at war are actually alive. They joke and cry, swim in warm lakes, and make snowmen near dugouts,” PEN Ukraine wrote.
Yevheniia Dukhopelnikova’s husband, 44-year-old junior sergeant Mykhailo Chernyk, continues to defend Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ZMINA reports.
