UKRAINE, Sep 9 — At least 184 civilians were killed and 856 injured in Ukraine in August as a result of Russian aggression, reports the UN in their recent report on the protection of civilians in armed conflict.
Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine has caused large-scale death and destruction, leading to thousands of civilian casualties. According to UN estimates, the Russian full-scale war killed 11,743 and injured 24,614 people in Ukraine since February 24, 2022.
August was the second deadliest month for Ukrainians after July, when the 200 were killed in Ukraine, the UN reports. Of the 184 people who died, ten were killed in the temporarily occupied territories, while the rest were killed in Kyiv-controlled areas.
Missile and bomb attacks caused the largest number of civilian deaths and injuries, with 182 people killed and 842 injured. Mines and other explosive devices killed two people and injured 14 civilians.
