UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jun 26 — On June 25, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published geolocated footage that indicates the Russian advance in Vovchansk, northeast of Kharkiv. However, the Ukrainian military denies this information.

“There was an attack without any Russian advance,” said Viktor Trehubov, the speaker of the “Khortytsia” operational-strategic group of forces, to Gwara Media.

At the same time, ISW reported that Russian forces continued offensive operations in the Kupiansk direction on June 25 but did not make confirmed advances.

“A Russian source claimed that Russian forces are within one kilometer of Kupiansk. ISW has observed geolocated evidence to assess that Russian forces have advanced as close as 3.4 kilometers (2.1 miles) of Kupiansk’s northern administrative boundary as of June 25,” said the statement.

ISW also said Ukrainian forces advanced in Zelenyi Hai (east of Borova settlement) and likely liberated the village.

On June 24, Pavlo Shamshyn, the spokesperson of the Operational Tactical Group “Kharkiv,” said that Russian forces continue to look for weaknesses in Ukrainian defense. They still have plans to create a buffer zone in the Kharkiv region. The Russian military continues to attack near Vovchansk, Lyptsi, and Dvorichna.
