UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Mar. 30 — Strix drone unit of the Ukrainian border guard destroyed Russian military equipment in the northern Kharkiv oblast and in the Belgorod oblast in Russia, Dmytro Kalnytskyi, the press officer of the Kharkiv Border Detachment, told Ukrainian military media Army Inform.
Earlier, Ukrainian forces expanded the kill zone in Belgorod oblast, creating a buffer zone by primarily striking Russian logistics and positions with drones.
One of the main targets of the Strix unit is Russian vehicles and personnel, because Ukrainian attacks on them affect Russian mobility and assault capabilities, said Kalnytskyi.
Ukrainian drone operators hit vehicles and buggies of the Russian Akhmat unit , which they use for quick movement and the delivery of supplies.
In the north Kharkiv oblast, the Strix unit destroyed a Russian intelligence complex Avtobaza, electronic warfare systems, the Skilok radar station, the Scaner-K direction finder, and the Murom-M monitoring complex, which works to detect and down Ukrainian drones, said Kalnytskyi.
“Such targets are difficult because they are well camouflaged, Russians often change positions, and they use other means to hide the equipment,” said the press officer.
Also, Ukrainian forces detected and destroyed the Russian Skat 450M, a drone, which the Russians use for conducting in-depth aerial reconnaissance, locating Ukrainian positions, correcting artillery fire, and guiding precision-guided weapons. “The estimated cost of such a drone is about $400,000,” said Kalnytskyi.
In the territory of the Belgorod oblast, Ukrainian drones hit two D-30 artillery guns and a BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle.
