KHARKIV, JAN 17 — On the evening of January 16, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv with missiles.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Garrison, Serhiy Melnyk, the Russian army launched strikes from the Belgorod Oblast using S-300 missile systems.
During the telethon, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, also provided details of the night attack. He noted that the air raid alarm sounded almost simultaneously with the first explosion.
As a result of the attack in the Kholodnohirskyi district, the facades of about 20 apartment buildings were damaged, and 14 cars were destroyed. The rubble is currently being cleared, and the consequences of the Russian attack are being eliminated.
As a result of the shelling, 17 civilians were injured: 16 women aged 38 to 90 and a 31-year-old man. Three of the victims refused to be hospitalized — they received help on the spot, and the other 13 are in the hospital.

Syniehubov noted that one victim, a 43-year-old woman, received a severe penetrating wound. A 39-year-old woman has severe injuries as well. The others have moderate and light injuries.
Rescuers also evacuated 30 people from the area of the rocket attacks.
