UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Dec 26 — Russian troops attacked Kharkiv on the morning of December 25 with 12 missiles, injuring six people, reported Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

The Russian army has been often attacking Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city, since the start of the full-scale invasion — the city is close to the border and the frontline. Russians use various weapons like glide bombs, strike drones, and missiles to target civilian and critical infrastructure there.

The Russians targeted the city’s energy facilities, leaving many residents without heating. Blackout schedules were implemented in the city and the region.

According to Oleksii Kuleba, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, the Russian attack has left about 500,000 customers (2,677 houses) in the Kharkiv region and Kharkiv itself without heating.

“All city services will work to keep the heat on and restart the heating system,” said Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv mayor.
