KHARKIV, UKRAINE, DEC 5 — The intensity of Russian assaults on the Kupiansk axis has dropped, reports the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, during his briefing.

According to him, they have been slowing for the last three days, which can be connected to the weather conditions. Russian soldiers will use [the drop in intensity — ed.] to add new people to regroup and train.

However, the Ukrainian military keeps fighting off Russian attacks in this direction — they fought off seven assaults during the past few days. The intensity of assaults is far less than at the beginning of the week or last week, Syniehubov says.

“We don’t see anything extraordinary or unplanned on this axis,” Syniehubov says.

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers use the fact Russians are less active than before to organize their own measures on the Kupiansk axis.
