UKRAINE, DONETSK OBLAST, Oct 24 — The Russian shelling of the city of Kurakhove, Donetsk region, destroyed a cultural center that housed the office of the Marinka district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. The technical and material assets of the organization were destroyed, reported the press service of the humanitarian organization.

Over the past two months, the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region has become one of the most active areas of the frontline, where intense fighting has been taking place. Russian forces have launched numerous assaults, especially near Selydove, Novohrodivka, and other nearby settlements. 

The press service reported that none of the staff or volunteers were injured during the attack.

“We categorically condemn the violation of international humanitarian law and the attacks on civilian objects and humanitarian organizations,” the Ukraine Red Cross said.
