UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Dec 23 — Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russians have damaged or destroyed near 37,000 residential buildings, including more than 6,000 apartment buildings, reported the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast come under massive Russian shelling and airstrikes, often during the full-scale invasion, as Moscow targets civilian and critical infrastructure in the region.
In addition, Russian shelling destroyed 561 educational institutions, 175 medical facilities, and 113 cultural institutions.
In 2024, the Kharkiv region received $434.78 million from the state and international partners to rebuild the power grid, build shelters in schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, and repair residential buildings.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost 300 apartment buildings have been restored in Derhachi, Staryi Saltiv, Izium, Balakliia, Rohan, Zolochiv, Dokuchaevske, and Chuhuiv.
