KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, May 14 — On May 13, at about 4:34 p.m., the Russian military attacked a farm in Korotych, Kharkiv district, injuring four people and killing one, reported Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
According to the police, the Russian shelling killed a 38-year-old man and injured 29, 30, 39, and 73-year-old men. The missile strike damaged the enterprise’s building, causing it to catch fire. According to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Russians hit the village with a missile.
On May 10, Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region. The border communities came under heavy Russian shelling and air strikes.
In just one day, more than 30 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.
In particular, the Russian army shelled Lyptsi. Medics assisted a 71-year-old woman who was later hospitalized. In addition, on May 13, the Russian shelling injured three people in Vovchansk.
The situation in the Kharkiv region has “significantly worsened”, writes the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to him, fighting continues along the state border of the Russian Federation.
Evacuation is currently underway in the region. The police and volunteers go door-to-door and help people to leave the border towns and villages. As of this morning, 7,023 people have been evacuated from the dangerous areas where active hostilities occur in the Kharkiv region.
