UKRAINE, BALAKLIIA, Nov. 17 — Overnight at about 2:05 a.m., the Russian army hit Balakliia in Kharkiv oblast with missiles, killing three people and injuring at least 14, including children, reported the State Emergency Services of Kharkiv region.
According to police, missile attacks killed three men, aged 69, 57, and 70. Fourteen people, including children aged 12, 14, 15, and 17 years old, got injuries of various severity.
The Russian attack damaged nine- and five-storey residential buildings, a kindergarten, and cars in the city, setting fire to apartments and their balconies. Law enforcement and the emergency services are still working at the impact site in Balakliia. Police opened criminal proceedings to investigate Russian strike as a war crime.
Balakliia is a city in the Izium district of Kharkiv oblast, located southeast of Kharkiv. Like most of the region, it’s attacked often by Russian drones and missiles.
