KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE, Apr 25 — About 15 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast came under Russian artillery and mortar fire over the past day. The shelling destroyed houses, a pharmacy, a village council, and a farm, reported the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops have attacked the Kharkiv region that borders the Russian Belgorod Oblast multiple times per day. They’ve intensified the shelling since March 2024, targeting both civilian and critical infrastructure in the region, exploiting the lack of air defense systems and missiles in Ukraine.
Over the past day, the Russians dropped KAB bombs on the village of Hlushkivka in the Kupiansk district, damaging eight private houses and a trailer, and a private house in the village of Kruhliakivka caught fire due to the shelling.
Russian troops shelled Slobozhanske twice with multiple rocket launchers, damaging three private houses.
In Vovchansk, the Russian shelling destroyed a shop and damaged a pharmacy building, three private houses, a garage, three outbuildings, and a cafe.
Russians dropped KAB-type guided bombs on the village of Kyrylivka, Starosaltiv community, damaging the building of the lyceum, the village council, six private houses, three outbuildings, and one two-story apartment building.
The village of Bilyi Kolodyazh in the Vovchansk community also came under a Russian bombing. It damaged a private house, two outbuildings, and a two-story apartment building.
