UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct 16 — Russian forces lost 191 troops in the Kharkiv direction over the past day, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

The “Kharkiv” reported that during the day, the Russian army also lost 74 pieces of weapons and military equipment, including one tank, three armored combat vehicles, 27 cars, five special vehicles, and 38 drones.

In addition, the Ukrainian forces destroyed 118 Russian personnel shelters, four drone launching positions, and one ammunition storage site, “Kharkiv” wrote.  

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia conducted two airstrikes using five glide bombs (KABs), attacked with 43 kamikaze drones, and fired 402 times at Ukrainian positions over the past day.
