UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, June 19 — Since February 24, 2022, the Russian armed aggression has affected more than 1,388 children and killed 551 in Ukraine. In the Kharkiv region, the Russians affected 390 children, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The Kharkiv Oblast is the second among Ukrainian regions in terms of the number of children affected by the war.
Oleh Syniehubov, Kharkiv Oblast Governor, reported that on June 16, the Russian army hit the village of Pisky-Radkivski in the Izium district with an airstrike, injuring a 13-year-old boy, a man, and a woman. The shelling also damaged four houses.
Evacuation is currently underway in the region as the Russians launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region on May 10. Towns and villages of the Kharkiv Oblast, especially border settlements, came under massive Russian artillery shelling and airstrikes.
Police, volunteers, and rescuers evacuated about 11,859 people from the border communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
